Alegra Motorsports announces four-driver GTD lineup for the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona supported by Nano Pro MT

TAMPA, Florida, (January 11, 2021) - Alegra Motorsports is returning to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship to take on the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona with a four-driver lineup supported by title sponsor Nano Pro MT.

The team is delighted to welcome back veteran Alegra drivers Daniel Morad (CAN), Michael De Quesada (USA) and Billy Johnson (USA), who will join incoming Mercedes-Benz works driver and 2016 Blancpain GT Series champion, Maxi Buhk (GER).

The announcement marks a reunion for Morad and De Quesada, who drove with team owner Carlos De Quesada, Michael Christensen and Jesse Lazare en route to victory in the 2017 edition of Daytona in the GTD class. Johnson is no stranger to the team either, having driven with Alegra for select races in the 2019 World Challenge Americas effort.

Paired with Buhk’s Blancpain GT series title and win at the 24 Hours at Spa in 2013, Alegra will be looking to its deep endurance experience to repeat those results when it returns to the 3.56-mile Daytona road course.

Maxi Buhk:

“It's great to be supporting Alegra Motorsports and their new Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3. There is a good amount of endurance racing and winning in this driver line up which will play a key role in this race.”

“I'm looking forward to getting back in the car with Daniel and the rest of the team. It was a surreal experience when we won the 24 Hours back in 2017, so hopefully we can do that again in 2021. “

Daniel Morad:

“I'm really happy to be back with Alegra Motorsports in the IMSA WeatherTech series. This will be the first time we’ve reunited the squad in the championship since we won the Rolex 24 in 2017. It's a fresh look for us, as the team recently made a big switch to the AMG brand. This is something I am very much looking forward to.”
